The Palsgrave city of Neumarkt can look back on an eventful history. It experienced its heyday during the period 1410 - 1543 when Neumarkt was selected by the Palsgrave Friedrich II as the residential city of the Upper Palatinate region. You too can stroll in the footsteps of history on the "city walk" offered by the Tourist Information Office. In 1843, this Upper Palatinate city was even elevated to a port city on the newly constructed Ludwig-Donau-Main canal from Bamberg to Kelheim. Even today, the old towpaths along this artificial waterway provide an ideal location for idyllic, close-to-nature cycling, walking or jogging tours!

After a day of sport on the Neumarkt greens, come and enjoy the diversions, culture and quality of life of this "big" small town. Set off on a shopping expedition in the historic district with its many speciality shops and boutiques! A cappuccino in one of the many street cafe or a relaxed dinner in one of our tradition-steeped inns will surely provide a perfect end to your eventful day. But what if you still fancy a cultural treat. You can enjoy arts and music of the highest standard in Neumarkt. In our Reitstadel Cultural Center you will meet world-famous classical stars (see concert program at www.neumarkter-konzertfreunde.de) and you are bound to find something that suits your taste in our extensive calendar of events.
For friends of contemporary plastic art, the Lothar Fischer museum (www.museum-lothar-fischer.de) is an ideal place for finding inspiration. And for those yearning for quiet, relaxation and inner repose, our almost 30 hectare LGS Park bids you a hearty welcome! Come enjoy the beauty of our various theme gardens, like the rose garden, or our "Garden - Symbol of Life". Take a well-earned rest in an authentic Upper-Austrian wine cellar with mini-golf course and a boule court, or in a romantic lake side cafe.

Neumarkt has a lot to offer besides a new, diverse world of golf. Some pleasant surprises and discoveries await you here after golfing, or even instead of golfing! We look forward to seeing you! |
